Why Is The Anime Bleach Called Bleach

Bleach the popular manga and anime by tite kubo is an anime about the orange haired boy ichigo kurosaki who can see spirits and has the powers of a powerful spirit called a soul reaper thrust.

Why is the anime bleach called bleach. Actually i read an little snippet of the november 08 shonen jump and they interviewed tite kubo. As a result multiple theories regarding what title means have spawned. So tite kubo chose bleach to evoke the impression of the color white. So not word for word he said he originally was gonna make the characters use guns except for rukia so he was going to call it snipe.

Tite kubo the creator of bleach gave three reasons to calling it that. They asked him why he named it bleach. But then he thought that swords were better so snipe wouldnt fit anymore. When someone with dark hair bleaches it it often comes out orange.

One as the soul reapers cleanse souls its like they are bleaching their souls. Like how bleaching in a clothes sense. Why is this manga and anime called bleach it seems like it was named that because it sounds cool. Many people have asked that question of author tite kubo but there has never been an official answer.
